The Classic Air Max 180 Ultramarine Re-Release Set For May 24th

Air Max 180
Reading Time: 2 minutes

One of Nike‘s most highly anticipated re-releases is almost here! After years of rumours, the Air Max 180 Ultramarine is set to hit shelves next month. 24 May is the scheduled date.

Originally launched in 1991, the Nike runner featured a revolutionary Air Bubble that showcased a full 180 degrees of visible cushioning. The trainer has been absent from shelves for six years now, and this marks the second time a retro version will be released.

We can expect the Air 180 bubble to be larger than the first re-release. It will be interesting to see what other modifications Nike makes and whether this is the first in a series of colourways. Will they keep the OG flavour and stagger out releases like they do with the popular Jordan line, or will they take a different approach?

The most important thing is for Nike to faithfully replicate the original Air Max 180 shoe in terms of materials and construction, especially getting the shape just right. They should avoid using molds or shapes from other Nike runners.

This shoe will undoubtedly attract many die-hard fans and sell out very fast. Resellers will likely try to buy large quantities, but the Air Max 180 seems to have more of a dedicated following than just hype. The long absence has created a scarcity factor, which will only fuel demand. I can definitely see this shoe selling out quickly. It’s certainly going on my shopping list – just gotta be quick on the draw!
