The company Spread Salaam was created during lockdown in 2020 by founder Amar. The word ‘Salaam’ is an Arabic word that means peace. Spread Salaam has a clear mission, they want to spread peace throughout the world. How? by promoting good relationships whilst also raising awareness, and giving charity to to the needy and the poor.
The project started from a deep love for football and was a follow on from a challenge I did back in 2013 which was to get a collection of World Cup match balls signed by World Cup winners. This experience plus lockdown in 2020 made me realise that I had to do something more purposeful to help others and the way to do this was through design and football.
Spread Salaam across the world
Spread salaam Customised team and International retro football jerseys are quite niche. The design and creativity behind the shirts are a great idea. What I love about the brand also is they make donations to charity on every shirt sold.
The real pickouts for me are the Palestine collection and Salaam shirts these look really awesome. But in truth if you are into your retro football jerseys Spread salaam have got you!
The brand itself ’Spread Salaam’ (Spread Peace’) is both local and global with a customer base spreading across 29 countries. The community has grown organically and more recently we’ve visited some of our larger markets and held pop ups in London, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Dubai.
Retro football jerseys are definitely trending big these days. And they are appealing to everyone. They go good with Jeans and shorts. And the amazing thing is you can have your team colours too. I am really looking forward to seeing how this brand progresses and will be keeping tabs whilst also spreading salaam to the world.
