Tell us about your background? Can you share the inspiration behind your streetwear brand and the overall vision you have for it?

Born in East London, Patt3rn Up LDN is the brainchild of me and my brother, who are of Caribbean descent. We recognised a void in the market and felt that existing products lacked a genuine connection to our values and identity. This led us on a journey to create a brand that not only reflects our cultural heritage but also fosters a positive mindset and a sense of community. The essence of Patt3rn Up LDN is rooted in our background, pushing a unique perspective into the dynamic of British culture/ streetwear”.

“This led us on a journey to create a brand that not only reflects our cultural heritage but also fosters a positive mindset and a sense of community.”

What sets your brand apart from others in the streetwear industry?

Our brand stands out through its fusion of stories, content, culture, and community. We distinguish ourselves through a fusion of high-quality garments, a commitment to pushing positivity, and the cultivation of a community. I feel that others focus solely on style, whereas we prioritise meaningful storytelling. This approach sets us apart, creating a space where fashion intertwines with a positive mindset and community engagement”.

How would you describe the design aesthetic of your brand? Are there specific influences or cultural elements that inspire your designs?

A significant cultural influence is our commitment to inclusivity and representation, exemplified through our satin-lined headwear range. Embracing hair textures, our satin lining pays homage to a rich culture that often goes unnoticed in the fashion industry. It’s not just a design choice; it’s a statement, celebrating the unique characteristics individuals that look like us posses. We feel as though this cultural influence adds depth to our brand, making it more than just clothing—it’s a symbol of cultural pride and inclusivity.

Furthermore, our design aesthetic is a fusion of contemporary streetwear with a touch of cultural resonance. Influenced by Londons diversity our designs aim to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity. We’re also BIG on quality, ensuring that every piece not only reflects our unique design ethos but also meets the high standards of durability and wearability. Our dedication to quality goes beyond “trends”, as we attempt to make each piece a timeless addition to your wardrobe

Who is your target audience, and how do you engage with your community? What strategies do you use to connect with your audience and build a loyal customer base?

Great question! This is something we’re keen to focus on in 2024. I believe our target audience spans from individuals who value not only drippy streetwear but someone cares how they positively portray themselves and who are conscious about social issues”.

“We plan to engage with our audience through a multifaceted approach, using social media platforms, attending events, and being involved in collaborative projects. We plan on introducing an open dialogue, to listen to our community, and to create a space where their voices influence our brand’s growth”. “Our future strategy includes limited edition releases, behind-the-scenes content, and participating in initiatives to cultivate a sense of belonging. This two-way connection is intended to form the foundations of a loyal customer base, turning Patt3rn Up LDN into more than a brand and into a shared experience

Are there any collaborations or partnerships on the horizon for your brand? How do you choose collaborators, and what value do these collaborations bring to your brand?

At the moment we’re focused on establishing our own identity before diving into collaborations. By taking this approach, we aim to define our brand on our terms. I feel that choosing collaborators will be a strategic process, seeking those who resonate with our values and contribute to the narrative we’re crafting. As we build our foundation, these future collaborations will hold the potential to add depth, creativity, and fresh perspectives to our story

Where do you see your streetwear brand in the next few years? Are there any expansion plans or new directions you’re considering for the brand’s growth and development?

In the next few years, we envision solidifying our presence in the streetwear scene. We’re currently exploring expansion plans that focus on simply getting our brand out there and products seen! This I’m sure will come with new collections, diverse product offerings, and attempting to reach new markets. Our commitment to community will remain at the core, as we push creative boundaries, and continue contributing to a positive cultural impact.
