UK Rap artist and entrepreneur Bugzy Malone has revealed he has had discussions on a potential boxing match with none other than Floyd Mayweather. Although nothing has been confirmed the Mancunian revealed on the No Passion, No Point Podcast that he would be up to fight the boxing legend.
Bugzy Malone has always had a passion for puglism and has never hidden his connection to boxing. “I started boxing because I needed a way to channel my energy,” he revealed. “It instilled a sense of discipline in me.”
“The culture I was surrounded by was filled with violence and anger. Boxing offered a way to engage with that energy in a controlled setting, without any negative consequences. It wasn’t pure anger for me, more like frustration with my circumstances. Boxing became a healthy outlet to calm down and find focus.”
“Before I even considered the risks, I just said yes. They said Floyd Sr. liked my build and thought I looked strong.”

The 33-year-old rapper Bugzy Malone revealed he initially hesitated about a potential boxing match, considering the trend of celebrity bouts. But everything changed when he learned his proposed opponent was none other than the legendary Floyd Mayweather. The Money Man’s last fight was with John Gotti III, grandson of the New York Mobster. The fight descended into chaos when the referee stopped the contest due to ill discipline by both fighters, with Gotti III being the main culprit.
“I’d been rejecting offers because a lot of these fights seem more like internet stunts,” Bugzy explained. “So when they told me who they had in mind, I was surprised.”
Bugzy claims it was Mayweather’s father and trainer, Floyd Sr., who saw him as a potential competitor.
“Before I even considered the risks, I just said yes,” Bugzy admitted. “They said Floyd Sr. liked my build and thought I looked strong.”
Negotiations then began, with Bugzy highlighting a key advantage offered by his opponent’s camp.
“They were flexible with the weight limit, which gave me a fighting chance,” Bugzy said with a grin. “I thought, ‘This could actually work!'”
Bugzy Malone is not the only UK rapper to take up boxing. Dizzie Rascal has been training and sparring for many years and Kano recently revealed he is a huge fight fan and trains regularly in the gym. However. before Eddie Hearn gets any idea we should focus on this proposed bout. I’m sure it will capture the imagination of British fight fans and could do very big PPV numbers.
The rapper has turned down proposed fights before, one rumoured to be against Logan Paul. “Those internet celebrity fights? No thanks,” Bugzy said dismissively. “I wouldn’t want to be associated with that scene. If I’m going to do something outside of music, it has to be worthwhile.” ” if I’m going to take a slot out of my life to live as a proper boxer, train for flipping 12 weeks to go in a boxing ring and risk it all, I’m going to try and make it happen….. If Floyd really wants to fight, I’ll walk the walk.”
