For those that are old enough, flick back your memories to the 90s and early 2000s. Two classic tunes of different genres. One was garage the other was drum and bass. Old Skool Massive!!! The 21 seconds video was well ahead of its time, directed by Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini.

Soul Solid Crew – 21 Seconds

The visuals, all the crew dressed in black leather. The likes of Mega Man, Harvey, Asher d, Romeo and Lisa Mafia each perform their role. The 21-second track baseline was serious and people were going crazy about it. The smart and catchy chorus ” I got 21 seconds to go” Will forever be associated with the Soul Solid Crew.

Admittedly I used to be a bit more of a drum and bass man so the tune below was produced by DJ Andy C – Origin Unknown shout-out to Ram Records was a club banger when it dropped.

DNB Classic

I can remember first hearing this in a nightclub. I think DJ Grooverider played it. The intro was a slow build-up and then a drum roll, and then the bass kicks in. The samples from “31 Seconds,” “Felt like I was in this long dark tunnel” were taken from a 1985 NASA broadcast of a satellite launch, and a recording of a woman recounting a near-death experience.

Valley of Shadows

So if you want to go back in time and listen to a couple of UK club anthems these were definitely two that were played frequently in the clubs. I chose these two particularly because of the random numbers 21 and 31 seconds. What was the meaning behind the times?

Megaman said the crew created the track after their label told them to make a track lasting three and a half minutes. He said “So we worked out that with at least 10 or 11 members, that’s eight bars each – 21 seconds.

Both of these tracks will forever be timeless classics for all who know them. Let us know what you think about these two tracks in the comments section.
