Adidas has recently released a fresh range of football apparel for the Jamaican National Team. This is the second collaboration with British-Jamaican fashion designer Wales Bonner, and it’s sure to be just as popular as the first. The initial release in 2023 has been a huge successful within its diaspora and beyond, with both male and female adoption.

The home jersey features a classic adidas design – a clean and simple silhouette. The gold jersey is complemented by green sleeves and black trim, reflecting the colours of the Jamaican flag. The away kit takes a more artistic approach, incorporating the national colours into a unique pattern that’s bound to appeal to fashion enthusiasts and beyond. Both jerseys proudly display the national bird of the island, the doctor bird (also known as the scissor-tailed hummingbird).

Set to retail at £80 in the UK, there’s also a Green pre-match jersey which are becoming ever more popular with consumer as the tend to price slightly cheaper and have equal appeal in terms of there style and exclusivity.

The kit was modelled by a star-studded cast including Jamaican singer Shenseea, British-based Reggae Girlz star Khadija “Bunny” Shaw (Manchester City striker and Jamaican Captain, recently named WSL Player of the Year), as well as Rebecca Spencer and Drew Spence, both from Tottenham Hotspur Women’s Team.

I think this release is better than the first purely because the Away or change kit, which I think will be even more popular than the Home or first kit. Wales Bonner always produces nice touches int he detail in her designs and there’s cultural references in her two releases which really connects with the Jamaican diaspora to the jersey. This is the first installment of the release which will have other pieces of apparel available, such as presentation jackets available.
